Attending the First Danish Elvis festival was my first ever visit to Denmark.
I come from Wales, where we have the largest Elvis festival in the world each year at Porthcawl. I have attended most of the major Elvis events in the UK, and for many years i have travelled to Memphis for Elvis week, so i have a lot of experience of attending such events. What attracted me to visit the Danish festival was the fact that it was the first ever festival to be held there, and that in itself took a lot of hard work and determination by the organisers in setting the weekend up, and i felt it right to support such an event, and it turned out to be a great decision to go there.
Getting to the venue was made easy with the coach service laid on, and the hotel was the perfect setting for such an event. Spacious, comfortable, great food, and the event hall was laid out very warm and cosy, which i had been told, was a special feature of the Danish way of doing things. In addition to all that, the entertainment throughout was first class, which was only what i had expected to be honest.
I rise early in the mornings, and love to walk, and the hotel has some great areas of beauty surrounding it for such an activity. I spent hours before the main events, just taking in the natural beauty which Denmark has to offer in the area. The Danish Elvis festival is firmly in my Elvis event calendar from now on, as it will only grow and it deserves to be supported.
I love the fact that people from all over Europe can meet, and enjoy such a great weekend with a shared interest which is Elvis music and friendship. My daughter and sister in law will be attending the 2017 festival with me, and we can’t wait. The schedule for the weekend looks fantastic. and it will be great to be with so many friends again, and looking so forward to meeting new ones also.
